Bob Shaffer

Lieutenant Bob Shaffer served the Loveland Police Department in Loveland, Colorado from 1986 to 2023. He finished his career as the commander of the Criminal Investigations Unit for the LPD. Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1981. Since 1997, Lieutenant Shaffer has received over 300 hours of instruction and training in statement analysis and is a nationally respected expert in the discipline. He has been featured regularly as a guest speaker at professional investigation conventions in the United States. He routinely consults with law enforcement and private investigation firms nationwide to provide statement analysis for criminal and civil cases. His statement analysis skills have been used in several prominent cases including investigations involving George Zimmerman, Michael Jackson, Dylan Redwine, and Oscar Pistorius .Bob specializes in classroom training of statement analysis throughout the U.S., Canada, Asia, the Middle East, and Mexico to audiences of law

enforcement professionals, attorneys, arson investigators, private investigators, human resource specialists, and social workers. Statement Content Analysis is a unique and systematic scientific method examining the word choice, structure, and other content of a subject’s statement to determine whether it is the product of memory (truthful) or other subconscious sources (deceptive), and to identify where in the narrative any deception exists.
